The arena

LSSL’s arena is at Kantornes, just off europravei 8. From Laksvatn to Kantornes it’s a 4 kilometer drive. It’s roughly 45 kilometers to Tromsø, only city with an airport, that’s not too far from the arena. The biathlon arena lies at the foot of the great mountain Blåtind (translates out to Blue peak), which popularly goes by the name “The Sleeping Soldier”. This name comes from the characteristic shape of the mountain, where the top looks like a soldier with a helmet who lies on his back, sleeping. Blåtind’s peak rages at 1180 meters above sea level, and from the top it’s a powerful scene when you look directly down towards the fjord which beautifully stretches past Laksvatn.
