Troms is an area where alpine skiing and other kinds of skiing have flourished the past few years. The magnificent Lyngsalpene (Lyngen alps) that annually is visited by large quantities of ski enthusiasts. In Tamokdalen, a valley in Balsfjord, free ride and tree ride have become very popular. This valley gathers skiers from all over Europe, thanks to its amazing walls and very consistent weather and snow conditions, from early winter, to late autumn. This valley has been used a few times for shooting films.
